It must have been the biggest secret in Hollywood, but now the cat is out of the bag, Billie Eilish will be starring in her first acting role in Swarm.

Childish Gambino star Donald Glover is behind the new Amazon Prime Series, along with Janine Nabers, which looks set to give its audiences a fright when it lands on the streamer on Friday.

The drama allows Dre (Dominique Fishback), an obsessed fan of the world’s biggest pop star who sets off on an unexpected cross-country journey, according to the synopsis.

Meanwhile, Billie, 21, whose role wasn’t previously announced, is reported to be playing either a dangerous therapist or the leader of an all-female cult.

Fortunately for fans of the Bury a Friend chart-topper, a new teaser trailer featuring the pop icon has dropped – and her character is seriously menacing.

The trailer begins with Billie, who is sporting long blonde locks, staring directly into a young woman’s eyes, before she asked for her name.

‘Kayla,’ she replies earnestly, before Billie repeats the questions, receiving a different answer: ‘Dre’

‘Good,’ Billie soothes Dre, with the Ocean Eyes singer then asking her: ‘Tell me something you regret.’

The 30-second clip then jumps to another character remarking, in an apparent reference to Dre, who is seen with tears rolling down her cheeks: ‘She’s so weird but she’s got something.’

After a chaotic montage showing a hand smashing its way through a bedroom door, a character crawling across a kitchen floor and what appears to be officers arriving at a crime scene, the Bad Guys singer’s eerie character returns.

‘Did you hurt someone?’ she asks in a whisper, to which Dre replies firmly: ‘Yes.’

The Happier Than Even star, who is giving us the chills at this point, remarks: ‘Very good.’

Fans were shook to see the I Love You hitmaker in the trailer, with one writing: ‘BILLIE’S IN A MOVIE???!!!’

Another simply commented: ‘OMG’, while many others said they would be tuning in as soon as the series lands.

‘Billie can do everything, motherrrr,’ a third squealed.

Getting into the spirit of Hollywood, Billie was seen earlier this week at the Oscars Vanity Fair party with boyfriend Jesse Rutherford in tow.

She’s already won a gong for best original song award for James Bond theme tune No Time To Die, but who knows how long it will be before she gets a nod for her acting.

Swarm premieres on Amazon Prime Video on Friday March, 17.
