Five types of infographics that rock social media

Infographics are not just pictures that you put in your article to make up space — no, if that’s your main aim, you’re doing it all wrong!

 Infographics can actually help to:

  • better your SEO rankings
  • make your page look more attractive
  • grab your reader’s attention, and
  • make your content more shareable.

I don’t know about you, but I think that infographics are the way to go. media update’s Jana van der Westhuizen gives a run-through of the top five trending infographics that will make your brand pop!

Ready? Dora the explorer is ready to show you a world of different infographics:

1. The colour-popper

No, this infographic is not a splat on a page. Nowadays, you can actually intrigue your viewer more by using bolder and more daring colours rather than being dull and safe — now look at that!

2. The data-giver

We live in an era where data means facts, and facts are what your follower looks at to make certain decisions. A data-based infographic that explains certain analytics will make it easier for your users to make informed decisions … Shazam!

3. The photo-stuffer

Visual effects are the next best thing since sliced bread! Whenever you use a real-life photo of an item, you contribute to the fact that your follower knows exactly what you are offering

Using more photos in your infographics helps to:

  • draw attention to the products
  • make your design appear aesthetically pleasing, and
  • inform your buyer of what they are getting from your brand.

Please just make sure that you are acquainted with the terms high-resolution photo and copyright law — otherwise, use this template with caution.

4. The number-game

Some people’s brains are wired in a specific manner — no, not OCD, but almost there. Many of your viewers would want to see your brand’s information in a specific order, be it alphabetically or numerical.

This helps them to process the information faster as they know in which order they need to analyse the data. This one is for the brainiacs!

The comparison-king

Let’s not lie, your consumer constantly wants to compare the variables of life. They may want to know that what they are purchasing is the best product, or even make sure that they are using the correct social media platforms to get their news.

Oh and don’t forget about the calorie-counters that want to ensure that they are busy eating the healthiest chocolate with no calories — keep on lying to yourself, Gina!
